Gudmundsen Sandhills Laboratory (Whitman, NE)

Provide day-to-day care of cattle. Maintenance and repair of facilities, vehicles and equipment. Assist in data collection for a variety of studies. Provide campus security and have the ability to respond in emergency situations. Irregular work hours and strenuous physical labor is required. Must be able to work in inclement weather and temperatures from -30F to 100+F. Due to the remote location of worksite, housing is provided. High school diploma plus six years experience on a working cattle ranch or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to service and operate farm equipment essential. Welding and mechanical ability and knowledge of cattle handling and hauling equipment are necessary. Must have experience maintaining fencing. Must have a valid driver’s license and meet University driver eligibility requirements. Associates degree preferred. Strong agriculture background with basic skills in riding and care of horses and maintaining windmills. Basic computer skills preferred. Apply for this postion at S_221381.
