2023 Dundy, Hayes, and Hitchcock 4-H Summer Fun Flyer

Open to all youth.  All registrations are due 1 week prior to the camps. Late registrations will be $5.00 more than regular registration fee.

stART Camp

Date: 5/24/2023 Time: 1:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. CT Cost: $25 Ages: 8-18 years old

Location:  Hayes County Fairgrounds – 4-H Exhibit Building, Hayes Center

Youth will use their creativity to learn the art of felting by transforming strands of wool into something beautiful. Each participant will receive a complete felting kit to create their own masterpiece!

Animal Science Discovery Day

Date: 5/25/2023 Time: 9:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m. CT Cost: $15 Ages: 8-18

Location: NCTA Campus, Cutis – Check in at the Ed Center

Gain knowledge and understanding of the livestock industry and current research in animal science during this fun, hands-on program.  Youth will interact with animal science faculty and industry experts. Lunch provided.  MUST register online at cvent.me/mP1GMA

Babysitting Clinic

Date: 5/31/2023 Time: 10:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. CT Cost: $20 Ages: must be 11 or older

Location:  Hitchcock County Fairgrounds – Ag Complex Building, Culbertson

Do you enjoy young children?  Have you thought about babysitting this summer?  During this clinic youth will learn about the business of babysitting, child development, safety, nutrition, and general care in order to help them become a better babysitter. Lunch provided.

Ag Field Day

Date: 6/1/2023 Time: 9:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m. CT Cost: $15 Ages: 8-18

Location: Dundy County – Rock Creek Lake Area

Youth will travel Rock Creek Fish Hatchery near Parks followed by a visit Uppa Crik for a fun afternoon learning about growing alternative crops, raising llamas, and what is different about a red wattle pig.  Be ready to test your skills in a llama obstacle course.  Lunch provided.

Cooking Lab

Date: 6/7/2023 Time: 1:00 p.m.– 4:00 p.m. CT Cost: $15 Ages: 8-12

Location: Hayes County Fairgrounds – Exhibit Hall, Hayes Center

Is it science? Is it cooking?  Or could it be both?  Youth will put on their lab coats and chef hats to discover the science that happens in the kitchen.  Be prepared to be amazed.

Eye of the Storm

Date: 6/13/2023 Time: 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. MT   Cost: $12 Ages: 5-8

Location: Dundy County Fairgrounds – Exhibit Hall, Benkelman

Keeping your eye on the sky is a good idea, especially in Nebraska.  The National Weather Service from Goodland, KS will join the camp to help youth learn about temperature, wind, precipitation, and clouds.  To help bring rain to Nebraska youth will also make their own rain stick!

Recipes for Life

Date: 6/14/2023 Time: 9:30-4:00 p.m. CT Cost: $15 Ages: 8-18

Location:  TCDC Community Building, Trenton

This camp will explore important skills you need to know related to food, finance, clothing, child development and more. The morning will include learning skills. In the afternoon participants will have the opportunity to participate in the Life Challenge Contest using the skills they learned from the morning session. The contest is free & open to all 4-H members.  You do not have to participate in the morning learning to be in the afternoon contest, however it will be more beneficial. Lunch provided.

Tiny Chefs

Date: 6/21/2023 Time: 1:00-4:00 p.m. CT   Cost: $12 Ages: 5-8

Location: TCDC Community Building, Trenton

Do you like food?  Do you like to cook?  This camp explores why eating a variety of foods is important for you so put on your chef hat and apron and be prepared to make some tasty and creative food.

Art in Action

Date: 6/29/2023 Time: 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. CT   Cost: $15 Ages: 8-12

Location: TCDC Community Building, Trenton

See how your creativity, imagination and fine motor skills combine while creating exquisite works of art. Youth will be making clay impressions and learning the art of weaving.  All supplies will be provided.
