What is it?
The Seward County Feeder Pig Lottery helps 4-H and FFA members 8 -18 years of age find quality hogs to show at the county fair. Youth select their pigs through a numbered lottery system.
When Does It Start?
The lottery will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 2, 2022.
Registration
The registration and Feeder Pig Lottery Agreement deadline is Friday, March 4, 2022.
$50 Deposit / pig due at time of registration or no later than Friday, March 4, 2022.
No refund once pigs have been requested.
What do I have to do?
- Sign up for the Feeder Pig Lottery at the Seward County Extension Office
- Complete the FPL Agreement and return it the Seward County Extension office along with the $50/pig deposit by March 4, 2022.
- Take complete ownership of the pig(s) the day of the lottery.
- Enroll in the pig project by June 15th on 4-H Online.
- Complete YQCA Training, deadline June 15.
- Provide housing, feed and care for the pig(s) you receive.
- Complete an Animal Project Record Sheet
- Show your pig(s) at the Seward County fair.
- Pigs supplier will be: we are currently searching for a pig provider.
- Current Direct Health Measures for COVID will be followed.
