Applications are now being accepted for the full-time position of 4-H Extension Assistant at the Nebraska Extension – Otoe County Office in Syracuse.
A bachelor's degree is required, with a degree in education or youth development preferred. Previous experience with youth work through other organizations as an employee or volunteer is preferred. Teaching and/or public presentation skills highly preferred. Strong proficiency in a variety of computer and technology programs (word processing, spreadsheet management, web design and management, data management, etc.) is preferred. Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in education, agriculture or related field
- Experience in working with school age youth through schools, 4-H, or other youth-focused organization
- Self-starter with excellent teamwork and communication skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and database management software
- Valid Nebraska driver’s license
- Must pass a criminal background check and the 4-H youth volunteer screening
Location: Based in the Nebraska Extension in Otoe County Office, 620 1st Street, Syracuse, Nebraska
Hours: Regular office hours are Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Full time employment based on a 40-hour work week. Some evening/weekend hours required.
Salary: The hourly pay rate is $19.50 per hour. Comprehensive Otoe County benefits package available. Otoe County is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
