4-H afterschool experiences are offered during the time children and youth are out of school and their parents/guardians are in need of safe, healthy, caring, and enriching environments that offer expanded learning opportunities for their children.

December 4-H Holiday Maker Day!  Saturday, December 17th 9 a.m. to Noon.  Register by Friday December 2, 2022.  

There are 3 - projects for each age group.  Projects range from Snow Globes Wood Decorations, Sewing, Polar fleece scarf and so much more.

Dawes County Light Up Sweater Workshop

Dawes County 4-H Building, 2009 E Norfolk Ave. in Chadron, NE on November 22 from 3:45- 6:00 pm.

Just in time for the holidays- Melissa and Tessa will be hosting a Light Up Sweater Workshop on Tuesday, November 22 from 3:45-6:00 pm. Youth will learn simple circuitry and create their own light up sweater.

Sign up at the Nebraska Extension-Dawes County office by November 18th. The cost is $10 each and youth will need to bring their own sweaters.

Dawes County 4-H Building, 2009 E Norfolk, Ave in Chadron, NE on Sunday, December 18th, 2002 from 2:00 – 5:00 pm.

Come join us in our first ever, fun filled Maker Day! Youth ages 5-18 can register for up to 4 projects for the day. They do not have to be enrolled in 4-H to join in on the fun.

December 18th will be a fun afternoon of crafts and goodie making! Some activities included for the day are scented soap making, slime, and ornaments and decorations from wood. Kids can keep the items for themselves or gift them to others!
