There are still openings for the next Diabetes Prevention Program group at Gordon Hospital beginning soon. NDPP will begin Monday, February 25 a Gordon Memorial Hospital and is free. Participants will meet weekly on Mondays for 16 weeks, then two times per month for the remainder of the year. Participants will learn to make achievable and realistic lifestyle changes to reduce their risk of getting type 2 diabetes.
To register, individuals can call Nebraska Extension Dawes County at 308-432-3373 by February 22 or contact Jamie Goffena at email@example.com. Registrations will be limited to 20 people.
For more information about the program look here: http://www.pphd.org/Pages/dpp.htm. In the four previous groups at Gordon, 51 people have participated losing an average of 12.43 pounds or 6.4% of body weight – that’s 634 pounds gone! Also, they averaged 257 minutes of physical activity per week (341,449+ minutes total), making them more fit and 58% less likely to get Type 2 diabetes. You were part of that and I hope you are still living a healthier lifestyle!
