Holt County 4-H Council Meeting Minutes
Date: May 22, 2024 - 7:00pm

Council Members present: Tara Callison, Amber Shane, Tiffany Gotschall, Gina Pospichal, Megan Ramm, Miya Carey, and Clair Krysl.  Extension Staff Members Present: Debra Walnofer

Meeting was called to order at 7:02 p.m. by President Gina Pospichal.

Motion to approve minutes of the April 10, 2024 meeting without corrections made by Miya and seconded by Clair. All ayes. motion carried.

Treasurer’s Report: Debra presented the up-to-date budget and current balances. The motion to approve the treasurers report was made by Tiffany and seconded by Amber. All ayes, motion carried.

Committee Reports

Awards Committee: Awards are being ordered. Statement was made that checks need to get deposited.

Round Robin/Skill-a-thon Committee: No report.

Horse Committee: No report.

Unfinished/Old Business

Shining Stars 4-H Club: received a 4-H Foundation Club grant for $500 to purchase neck ties to be given out to the youth to keep who have cattle at the Holt County Fair.

New Business

4-H Council Camp Scholarship Applications:

     Oliver Shane - requested $250 for Skeet Clinic with Paul Giambrone
     Ian Shane - requested $250 for Skeet Clinic with Paul Giambrone
     Case Shane - requested $250 for Skeet Clinic with Paul Giambrone
     Holt Shane - requested $250 for Skeet Clinic with Paul Giambrone
     Miya Carey - requested $250 for National 4-H Conference in Washington D.C.

Motion to give all applicants $100 camp scholarships was made by Tara and seconded by Megan. All ayes, motion carried.

Pre-fair Day Volunteers: Debra asked if anyone would be available to help with Pre-fair day. If so let Debra know.

125th fair ideas/extra things council might want to do:
     Discussed a 4-H Alumni Livestock Judging Contest, Facebook page to upload photos, photo circle, trivia question of the day? 

 

Next Meeting Date: July, TBD. Debra will send out a Doodle Poll.

Motion to adjourn meeting at 7:39 p.m. made by Tiffany, seconded by Miya. All ayes, motion carried.
