Dealing with High Water on Sub-Irrigated Meadows

Dennis Bauer, Extension Educator, and Steve Niemeyer, Extension Educator, with the University of Nebraska Extension will be discussing different ways to deal with high water on sub-irrigated meadows to maximize production.

Topics to be covered include:

  • Methods to reseed areas that have drowned out
  • Fertilizer use in wet times - where, when, how much and what kinds, to maximize production and
  • Possible grazing strategies on sub-irrigated meadows to improve harvest efficiency and improve hay quality.

Other topics that might be covered if there is an interest from those attending would be producing high quality annual forages.
