Area healthcare workers are in need of face masks, and we need YOUR help! Here are some options for how you and your 4-H club can assist:
- Sew masks for area healthcare workers by using your own supplies following the Face Mask Guidelines approved by the Memorial Hospital. Additionally, here is a video tutorial on how to make these masks: How To Make Face Mask With Filter Pocket and Adjustable Wire.
- JOANN Fabric in Grand Island is providing free kits with supplies that make five masks. All you have to do is call ahead to reserve a kit and pick up the kit with their curbside customer service during store hours. Please call the store at 308-384-2424 for more information.
As of now, there are two sites in Aurora that are requesting our help:
- Westfield Quality Care (1313 1st Street). They need 80 masks. Please contact Annette at 402-694-9315 to schedule a drop off time.
- Memorial Hospital (1423 7th Street). Please contact ReeAnn Regier at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 402-694-8220 to make a donation.
Make sure to record your service hours (Online Volunteer Log), document the number of masks made, and take pictures. We may have an opportunity in the future to highlight your work!
Thank you for all you do!
