Central Nebraska Extension Master Gardener Program

Master Gardeners are people who love plants, gardening, landscaping, and teaching others. To earn a title of Extension Master Gardener, individuals enroll in the program and receive 40 hours of training from University of Nebraska–”Lincoln faculty, then volunteer 40 hours of gardening and horticulture related work. There is a training fee which covers the training resources. No qualifications or prior knowledge about horticulture is needed for the class.  The only requirement is a desire to share a love of gardening, learning, and a commitment to teach others about horticulture.

In 2018, two Master Gardener training sessions will be offered. The first session will offer six distance education trainings via Adobe Connect on Tuesday evenings February 6 through March 13, 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.  The second live, in-person session will be held March 12, 14, 16, 19, 21, & 23 during the day from 9:00-12:00 a.m. and from 1:00-4:00 p.m.

Deadline for new applications will be January 15.  Once the classes have started, new applications will not be accepted. For more information e-mail Elizabeth Killinger at ekillinger2@unl.edu, call 308-385-5088, or visit the Nebraska Extension in Hall County website: hall.unl.edu
