THURSDAY, AUGUST 10, 8:30 AM - 3:00 PM. - HASKELL AG LAB FARM SITE

HASKELL AG LAB SCIENCE & AG FAMILY FIELD DAY

Make plans to attend the Haskell Ag Lab (HAL) Science & Ag Family Field Day on Thursday, August 10, 2023. The event will run from 9 AM to 3 PM.

The Haskell Ag Lab is located 1 1/2 miles east of Concord, Nebraska at 57905 866 Road (Map). Direction Notes: Bridge west of Concord is under construction so please use alternate routes if coming from the west or south. From Wayne - From intersection of Hwy 15 and Hwy 35 stoplight, head north on Hwy 15 for 8 miles, turn right and head east on 864th Rd for 2 miles. Then turn left and head north for 2.1 miles on 578th Ave until you come to State Hwy 26B spur. Turn right onto State Hwy 26B spur and head east for 1.4 miles. From Laurel - from intersection of Hwy 20 and Hwy 15, head east on Hwy 15 for 2.9 miles, then turn left onto 868 Rd and head east for 2.5 miles. Then turn right onto Hwy 116 and head south for 1.6 miles, turn left onto State Hwy 26B spur and head east for 2.7 miles. From the east - Turn off Hwy 9 onto 866 Rd and head west for 5.6 miles. Field day site is on north side of road.

Handicap accessibility will be limited due to the nature of the event. A translator will not be on site at the event.

8:30 AM Registration Begins and continues throughout the day (Information on sessions, lunch tickets, a map, & bags will be handed out at registration)

10:00 AM Arboretum Walking Tour (meet at trolley to go to Arboretum)

10:15 - 10:45 AM Silage Safety Demonstration by Connor Agriscience (by south side of tent)
10:35 - 10:55 AM Heifer Development Center - Connor Biehler, Beef Systems Extension Educator (Main Shop)
11:00 - 12:00 AM Water Quality Presentations - Crystal Powers, Troy Gilmore, Daniel Snow, Laura Nagengast - UNL Water Center, Extension, and Biological Systems Engineering (Main Shop)
11:00 AM Farm Tour South (meet at trolley to go on tour)
11:00 AM - 2:00 PM Food Trucks Open for Lunch (on the grounds)  Use your tickets from registration. See location of vendors on your map you received at registration.
12:15 - 12:45 PM Silage Safety Demonstration by Connor Agriscience (by south side of tent)
12:45 - 2:00 PM Introduction of Dr. Derek McLean, Dean of Agricultural Research Division
