4-H Summer Reading Program

Learn about engineering, design and citizenship as part of Build a Better World, the 2017 National Summer Reading program. Each week, we will have a new theme, a new book, new activities and new challenges. This free program is open to all youth K-6 so feel free to bring your non-4-H friends along. Please pre-register for these sessions so that we have plenty of supplies for the activities.

Pinwheel Table Runner Workshop

Pollinators At The Park Workshop

Join Jen & Mike with Nebraska Game & Parks Commission to learn about the importance of pollinators in our ecosystem. This workshop will be outside so be prepared with sunscreen, water and appropriate clothing. This is part of the Entomology project.

Youth Energy Day

Age: 8 & Up

Youth in this workshop will mine for chocolate and participate in the ultimate appliance challenge. If you love science, you will love this workshop! Come join in the fun!

Date: June 18-20, UNL East Campus, Lincoln

Interested youth can form livestock quiz bowl and judging teams to compete against other counties for a championship title, scholarship money and a spot at nationals.

Fee: $12.00

Youth will attend three mystery workshops and leave with projects ready for the county fair! One of these projects will be foods-related and may be consumed as a snack rather than sent home as a project. Helpers are requested, but not required. If unable to attend and still interested, we will be offering the same workshops in neighboring counties. Call for more information.

Alcohol Ink Workshop-Taylor

Age: 10 & Up

Youth in this workshop will get to create their own Home Environment fair exhibit using alcohol ink. If you like art, you love this workshop! Please bring a helper if you are under 10.

Babysitting Clinic

Age: 12 & Up

Interested in a career in child development or child care? We will learn about the ages and stages of children as we prepare to feed, play and interact with children on their level. This will be all new content and is Part 3 in our three part babysitting clinic series. So please come, if you joined us last year or if this is your first time. This is part of the I Have What It Takes To Be A Babysitter project. To sign up, please pre-register by June 23rd.

If you plan to do the Fashion Show, please be prepared to fill out your narrative and if you plan to do the music contest, please have song title and music to the office by the registration deadline.
