Virtual 3-D Modeling & Entrepreneurship Competition

About

Need a fun activity to engage learners while they are out of school for COVID-19?

Gage County 4-H is excited to sponsor the first-ever 4-H virtual 3-D Modeling & Entrepreneurship Competition. In this competition, youth design a 3-D model that solves our entrepreneurship challenge and submit it to be judged. The first-place winner in each division will receive a $20 Amazon Gift Card, and we will 3-D print the top 3 models in each age division and mail them to the participants. Participants will need access to a computer and the internet. Participants may use any software capable of designing 3D models. For beginners, we suggest using tinkercad.com and following our short lesson below.

The entrepreneurship challenge for our competition is: design a product to make nature more inviting.
When designing a 3-D model, make sure that it solves the entrepreneurship challenge.

Submissions will be judged on:
1) Design - originality, uniqueness, innovative
2) Complexity of Design
3) Assembly - thickness of walls, solid surfaces, cut-outs
4) Entrepreneurship - does it solve the challenge problem

Age Divisions:
Junior: 8 - 10 years old
Intermediate: 11-13 years old
Senior: 14-18 years old

This competition is open to any Nebraska youth ages 8-18. No need to be enrolled in 4-H to participate!
