Why are so many shrubs brown this year?
- In February of 2021, Nebraska had temperatures reach -30 degrees F for multiple days in a row. This did a lot of damage to our plants. Just prune out the brown, dead areas and hope for improvements.
When can I cut back Iris & Peony plants for the year?
- They will turn brown in the late fall. Wait until they turn brown before pruning them back to allow time for the plants to build and store their nutrients through the year.
In the late summer/early fall, why are the tips of my trees, especially oaks, turning brown and falling off the tree?
