Fillmore County 4-H Council Scholarship

The Fillmore County 4-H Council will award multiple scholarships. One scholarship opportunity is in memory of Ralph “Bud” Vauck and Clay S. Metcalf to Fillmore County 4-H members who are pursuing an education in any area at any post-secondary institution. We are very fortunate to have the $250 scholarship in memory of Ralph “Bud” Vauck and Clay S. Metcalf. Applicants must be currently enrolled in the Fillmore County 4-H program and have participated in the 4-H program for a minimum of five years.

Martha & Don Romeo Scholarship

The Nebraska Association of Fair Managers will award a $500 scholarship to one qualifying 4-H male and a $500 scholarship to one qualifying 4-H female who are graduating seniors in the State of Nebraska and who plan to continue with post high school education.  The scholarship will be awarded at the annual NAFM convention in January. Submit application by December 1st!

2023-2024 J.H. & J.W. Claybaugh Memorial Scholarship

Nebraska residents, those attending school in Nebraska, or those interested in a career in poultry-based in Nebraska are encouraged to apply for the 2023-2024 J.H. & J.W. Claybaugh Memorial Scholarship. 

The J.H. & J.W. Claybaugh Memorial Scholarship began in 2022 with a $5,000 donation from William Claybaugh in the remembrance of his Grandfather Joseph H. Claybaugh and Father Joe W. Claybaugh. Both men have been instrumental in the poultry industry.

Two $2,500 scholarships will be awarded. Winners are required to attend the Nebraska Poultry Industries conference on March 15, 2023 to be presented the scholarship.

Non-traditional students are encouraged to apply.

Tribland 4-H Awards Contest

This contest provides an opportunity for the Tribune to recognize the accomplishments of outstanding 4-H'ers in Adams, Clay, Webster, Nuckolls, Fillmore, Thayer, Kearney and Franklin counties in Nebraska and Smith and Jewell counties in Kansas. The 2022 Outstanding Tribland 4-H'er will be featured in a Tribune article, generally in mid-January. He or she will receive a $300 cash award and commemorative plaque. First and second runners-up will be selected. Each runner-up will receive a $100 cash award, a small plaque and a write-up. All nominees will be recognized in the awards spread.
