How to Get $4 Corn and $10 Soybeans!

Do you know how to get $4 corn and $10 soybeans? By taking the long-view in marketing with a plan that combines pre- and post-harvest marketing efforts; (1) price grain before harvest, (2) at harvest, store grain and roll the hedge forward to spring, and (3) with a better spring basis, price and deliver grain.

How to Write a Pre-Harvest Marketing Plan

Should you consider pricing 2021 crop before harvest? Yes – because early sales may be your best sales in marketing. See how target prices and decision dates work together to create a proactive marketing plan.

Post-Harvest Marketing Tips

Margins are tight and there is little room for error in pricing decisions. What is a producer to do? Instead of looking for one big answer, let’s turn to my celebrity grain producers. Peter Paperfarmer and Hank Holder offer some simple but powerful marketing tips.

Soybean Gall Midge: Dealing with a New Trouble Maker in the Midwest

Soybean gall midge dealt a heavy blow to some soybean farmers in east-central Nebraska while others are unaware of its existence. This presentation will highlight the pests current distribution and injury to soybean in Nebraska as well as updates on field research projects funded by the Nebraska Soybean Board, North Central Soybean Research Program, USDA-NIFA and industry collaborations. No single tactic or practice eliminated soybean gall midge but some promising tactics in combination with cultural control strategies may be able to reduce the level of plant injury and economic losses from this new species.
