Youth may apply for a 1-year term and are eligible to reapply for a maximum of 2 terms. Those selected will be announced at the annual 4-H Achievement BBQ with terms starting at the following Council meeting and run from then until the next annual 4-H Achievement BBQ. The first meeting will be November 6, 2024 and expect between 3-6 meetings per year. We will have additional meetings as needed, determined by youth council members, as we work towards planning new and fun events. Applications will only be accepted by email this year. Please submit your application to dlans2@unl.edu by Monday September 23, 2024 by 5:00 pm. All names will be blacked out and sent to the committee for selection. We look forward to having more youth involved in 4-H Council. If you have any questions, please reach out to Sarah Fanning, sfanning3@unl.edu.

2024 Dawson County 4-H Council Youth Application
Below is the 2024 Dawson County 4-H Council Youth Application. All Dawson County 4-H youth ages 14-18 on January 1st are eligible to apply. If chosen, youth will assist in the planning and execution of a well-balanced 4-H program. The youth chosen will have a voice in determining how things will run at the Dawson County Fair and other Dawson County 4-H Events. This is a fantastic opportunity for youth to develop and showcase leadership skills, and a chance to provide volunteer service to Dawson County 4-H. Youth members of the 4-H Council are selected by an application process and reviewed by an independent committee of individuals with 4-H experience plus one member of the Dawson County Extension 4-H staff. The applications are judged, and the top six youth will become members of the 4-H council with all office holding capabilities and voting rights.
