Deadline Reminders:

4-H youth must be enrolled and membership paid by June 15 to be eligible to exhibit at any NE county fairs or the Nebraska State Fair, per new State 4-H rules.  Membership fees are $10 per youth for the entire membership year, reguardless of how many projects a 4-H member may participate in. When enrolling online at https://ne.4honline.com/ be sure to use Firefox or Google Chrome. We ask that all of our 4-H volunteer and leaders also enroll. Dues can be paid online or a check will need to be mailed to the Extension Office in Thedford.

YQCA certification, horse Id's (unless you plan to participate in the District or State Horse Show), and livestock Id's are due on June 15.  Nebraska 4-H requires all youth enrolled in livestock projects to complete annual quality accurance certification through Youth for the Quality Care of Animals. We are asking you to email a current photo of your horse to mandersen16@unl.edu so that we can update our information. (If you are planning to exhibit cattle, sheep, goats, hogs, rabbits, or poultry this requirement must be met.)  The cost for the certification is $12.  We do have coupons available through our office, please call the office for the coupon code.

Online District and State entry forms for State Horse Show are due May 7.  Horse Id forms are due to the Central Sandhills Exension office on May 7. For more information log onto the District and State Horse Show Webpage: https://4h.unl.edu/state-horse-expo. Again we are asking for a current photo of your horse to be emailed to mandersen16@unl.edu.

All county fair entries will now be due JULY 1.  This date will apply to all FOUR county fairs:  Blaine, Grant, Hooker and Thomas.  A five day grace period will still be allowed for late, entries, with a late fee.  As it currently reads in the fair book, NO LATE entries will be accepted, and no additions will be made beyond the five day grace period.
