Local Business Honored for Philanthropy

Trotter, Inc., headquartered in Arcadia, Nebraska, was recently recognized for its support of local Nebraska Extension and 4-H programs by the Nebraska Association of County Extension Boards (NACEB). At the NACEB Annual Meeting in Lincoln on February 13, the Outstanding Business Award was presented to Jim and Sis Trotter along with Jess and Becky Trotter.

The Trotters were nominated by the Central IV Extension Board. An excerpt from the application shows why the Board felt Trotter, Inc. was deserving of the award. “If you have attended a county fair in Greeley, Howard, Sherman or Valley Counties, there is one family business you will see sitting in the stands at every 4-H auction… purchasing 26 cakes and 40 animals in 2018 alone. This generosity has helped make 4-H projects financially feasible for countless young people.

Trotter, Inc., a family business that includes Jim and Virginia Trotter and both of their children, Terina and Jess, has kept many of our area communities thriving with commerce and employs over 200 full-time employees. Jim has seen to it that his employees and company resources are available to assist with fairgrounds maintenance and improvement projects. You might say that the example of service and giving the Trotters have set goes beyond the walls of their home. They influence and inspire others to be generous; and the Extension program, our communities and youth have benefitted.”
