Join Cedar County Sharp Shooters Archery Club

Is your child interested in learning how to shoot a bow & arrow?  Join the Cedar County Sharp Shooters to learn or develop their skills through the 4-H Shooting Sports project.  John Brodersen and Aaron Wiechelman are certified leaders and volunteers willing to teach youth the disciplines of archery.

The Nebraska 4-H Shooting Sports program offers opportunities for youth to learn safe bow handling skills and sound fundamentals of shooting under the guidance of knowledgeable adult volunteers.  It also offers opportunities for competition where youth can exhibit their skills and abilities and compete with other 4-H members from across the state.

To learn more about how to become involved in the Cedar County Sharp Shooters, mark your calendars for an informational archery shooting sports meeting on Sunday, October 10, at 5:00 pm at the Cedar County Fairgrounds Open Class building.

The archery program is open to youth ages 8-18 as of Janaury 1, 2024.  Some equipment is provided, but if you have your own archery equipment please bring along to this meeting so the leaders can look it over.

The archery season runs from October 2023 through January 2024.  There is HEAT in the Open Class building where practices will take place.  Each practice will also include non-shooting learning skills.

It is very beneficial for interested families to attend, however, if you are interested but unable to attend please contact the Cedar County Extension Office at 402-254-6821 by October 13th.
