2023 Citizenship Washington Focus (CWF) Experience

 Citizenship Washington Focus Conference

Nebraska Extension in Cass, Johnson, Nemaha, Pawnee, Otoe, and Richardson counties, together with their respective 4-H Councils are again sponsoring a Citizenship Washington Focus (CWF) experience in 2023.

For over 50 years, CWF has enriched young people’s lives by providing opportunities for them to:

  •  Broaden appreciation and practice respect for themselves and others in the world.
  •  Increase individual commitment to citizen involvement.

  •  Understand the importance of civic and social responsibilities as they relate to the development of better citizens and leaders.

  •  Practice fitness and have fun!

Delegates accomplish the above through:

  •  A look behind the scenes in our nation’s Capitol, and a chance to meet senators and representatives.
  •  Motivational speakers, workshops, and assemblies that increase individual commitment to citizen involvement and build lifetime skills for success.
  •  Activities that encourage new and lasting friendships.
  •  An enthusiastic collegiate staff working daily with the youth.
  •  Fitness and fun!

This experience is estimated to be an up to 14 day trip via airplane with additional stops in New York City and Gettysburg.  4-H families should plan for this well in advance; estimated cost will be about $2,400 per participant.  The cost is difficult to lock in with with a few unknowns such planning a trips like this early 2 years advance.

Participants must be a current 4-H member and maintain active membership in 4-H through the conference year.  Once all the spots have filled, the remaining who signedup will be put on an alternate list.  The alternate list will be on a first come, first serve basis.

There will be a down payment requirement of 10% is when you sign up for a spot in the CWF2023 experience.
