Babysitting Workshops – May 2018

This Thursday, May 3rd is the first session of the Babysitting Workshop. The workshops will be at the Oakland City Auditorium starting at 3:45 and wrapping up at 5:00 p.m. Any student in 4th-7th grades is welcome to attend the 3-session workshop. (4-H membership is not required)

Participants will learn whether they are ready to be a babysitter, what it takes to be a GREAT babysitter and how to keep their charges safe at all times. We want these babysitters to be the kind kids AND parents LOVE!

The Workshops will be held Thursday, May 3, Tuesday, May 8 and Thursday, May 10.

Attendance at all three sessions is required to receive a Babysitting Clinic Certificate.

The workshop will be presented by me, Mary Loftis, UNL Extension Associate along with special guests including local police, a nurse and a mom and baby for a diapering demonstration.

Registration is required by noon, Wednesday, May 2nd so enough materials and snacks will be available for the group. Call UNL Extension at 402-374-2929.

4-H Online Enrollment and Re-Enrollment

There’s still time to enroll or re-enroll in 4-H so you can take part in all the great projects, workshops and fair activities this summer!

Each year we need 4-H members and leaders to re-enroll at ne.4honline.com. There are step-by-step sheets at www.burt.unl.edu  For both new families and families that already have profiles. If you already have a profile make sure you DO NOT make a new profile.

If you are a VOLUNTEER for our program, we also need to you to re-enroll in our online database. If anyone has questions please call the office and we'll do our best to work through any issues.

The deadline to enroll, re-enroll and register for any 4-H projects you’d like to take to the fair this year is June 1.

Searchable, Web-Based 2018 Pick Your Project Now Available

The 2018 Pick Your Project is now available at http://4hcurriculum.unl.edu  There is also a printable, 2-page 2018 Nebraska 4-H Project Listing. This new printable 4-H Project Listing shares a link to the searchable, web-based 2018 Pick Your Project. Both of these resources can be publicly accessed at https://4h.unl.edu/resources

Using the web-based 2018 Pick Your Project, users will be able to search for projects by keywords, curriculum areas, knowledge levels, and geographic levels. The web-based Pick Your Project contains the same project codes that are shown in the 4HOnline Enrollment system. It is the intent that this feature will assist 4-H youth, volunteers and families with learning about the project opportunities using the Pick Your Project and then easily locating the same project in 4HOnline.

If you have any questions please call Nebraska Extension in Burt County at 402-374-2929.
