HERITAGE

*Denotes State Fair Entry

Purple, $4; Blue, $3; Red, $2; White, $1.50

The purpose of the 4-H Heritage project is to acquire knowledge, develop a connection to the past and share the story of a 4-H member’s heritage and history around them. An exhibit may include items, pictures, maps, charts, slide/tapes, drawings, illustrations, writings, or displays that depict the heritage of the 4-H member’s family or community or 4-H history. Please note: Exhibits are entered at 4-H member’s own risk. We will not be responsible for loss or damage to family heirloom items or any items in this division.

Displays should not be larger than 22 inches by 28 inches. Pictures and other hanging items should have a wire hanger for display purposes. Display collections securely in an attractive container no larger than 22 inches by 28 inches. 4-H members may only exhibit one entry per class number. All exhibits must be labeled. Label each item with the 4-H member’s name, county, age, and years in the project. Entries must have documentation included per class requirements. When writing documentation ask yourself and think about how does this relate to my heritage or why is it important? Examples of documentation include birth dates, death dates, marriage dates, identification of individuals included in the exhibit, or stories related to the subject of the exhibit. Reports can either be handwritten or typed. All static exhibits must receive a purple ribbon at the county fair in order to be eligible for State Fair selection.  For scoresheets and other resources visit https://go.unl.edu/ne4hheritage.
