York County Outstanding 4-H Youth

Due September 30
  
Youth who are currently in their senior year of high school at the time of application AND have been enrolled in the York County 4-H Program during the current 4-H Year are eligilbe to apply.

York County 4-H Council Scholarship

Due Febuary 15
   Youth who have completed their junior or senior year of high school AND have been active in the York County 4-H Program for at least 5 years.

Dorothy & Howard May Trust

Due February 15
   Graduating senior who is a current York County 4-H member and has been active in 4-H program and enrolled in a 4-H Plant Science area project for at least 5 years.

2024 Chamber Ag/York County Corn Growers Scholarship

Due February 26, 2024

   Graduating Senior Residing in York County/or Graduate from a York County High School or a member of a 4-H or FFA Chapter in York County.  Primary Requirement:  Ag or Ag relatead major at a vocational or 4-year college/university.  Amount of Scholarship:  minimum amount of $1,000 payable to the college. 

York County 4-H Camp Scholarship

Due One Month Prior to the Activity
   This scholarship is for any York County 4-Her attending a 4-H sponsored camping activity. The scholarship will be in the amount of $25 for 1-3 and $50 for 3+ full days.


York County Scholarships

Jorgensen Family Memorial Scholarship

Due First Friday in July
   This scholarship is for any recently graduated youth from high school.  A current or past 4-H member of York County.  Exhibited beef in 4-H sponsored activities with in the last two years. Has been accepted to a 2 or 4 year college with any major.  Applicants are eligible to be recognized more than 1 time if the criteria is met. The scholarship will be in the amount of $100.

JD Hirschfeld Family 4-H Scholarship

Due First Friday in July
   This scholarship is for recently graduated seniors who have been active in York County 4-H.  Applicant must be accepted to a 2 or 4 year college or university.  The amount of the scholarship is $500.

Wilber & Anna Schlechte 4-H Scholarship

Due First Friday in July
   This scholarship is for recently graduated seniors who have been active in York County 4-H program for at least 5 years.  Applicants must be accepted to a 2 or 4 year college/university.  The amount of the scholarship is $1000.


State Wide Scholarships

Martha & Don Romeo Scholarship    Due November 30th

   The Nebraska Association of Fair Managers will award a $500 scholarship to one qualifying 4-H male and one qualifying 4-H female, who are graduating seniors in the State of Nebraska and who plan to continue with post-high school education.  The scholarship will be awarded at the annual NAFM Convention in January. 

This scholarship  application will be added to this sight when we receive it from the Nebraska Association of Fair Managers

Nebraska 4-H Foundation Scholarships  Due January 5th

The Nebraska 4-H Foundation offers 4-H members the opportunity to apply for scholarships. The Nebraska 4-H Foundation awards up to $22,000 worth of scholarships each year to 4-H’ers from across the state.

To apply for scholarships, 4-H’ers must submit the Nebraska 4-H Achievement Application for state-level review by January 15th.

. If applying for multiple scholarships, only one Achievement Application should be submitted. An applicant must select the scholarship to which he/she feels qualified.

4-H youth may want to visit with the Extension Office in their county and the financial aid office at the college of their choice. There may be other grants, scholarships, or low-interest loans for which they may be eligible.
Scholarship availability may change at any time without prior notice.

Use of Information

The information submitted in the Achievement Application is confidential. Personal information about scholarship winners may be used in local publicity and press releases.  Note: Only the application review committee will have access to transcripts and test scores.

General Eligibility Requirements

The following requirements apply to all scholarships awarded by the Nebraska 4-H Foundation unless otherwise noted. Additional scholarship-specific eligibility requirements may apply. Please see Available Scholarships below for more details.

1. Must be a current high school senior, graduating in Spring of the current year and attending college in the Fall of the current year or a current Freshman at an accredited university (see specific scholarship school regulations).  *Exception: Grand Island Horse Scholarship applicants may apply after their sophmore year in high school.*
2. Must have completed one (1) year of 4-H and be current 4-H member unless otherwise stated in the scholarship-specific eligibility requirements listed.

NACEB Due March 16

The Nebraska Association of County Extension Boards (NACEB) Scholarship Program includes the following: 
  • One $1000 scholarship at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources (CASNR) or in the College of Education and Human Sciences (CEHS) for an incoming student (freshmen or transfer student). 
  • One $1000 scholarship for a current student (sophomore or higher) enrolled in CASNR or CEHS.

4S Goat Expo Scholarship Due September 10th

  The 4S Goat Expo committee sets aside a specific amount of money annually.  The Specific amount given to each eligible applicant is dertermined each year by the number of applications received.

Animal Science: Inspiring Your Future Scholarship Competition

   Is there an individual or an animal that has inspired you to pursue an education and career in Animal Science?  Ten winners will be selected and receive a $5000 scholarship to be used for the 2023-2024 academic year.
