Nebraska Online Nomination Process

DNA envelopes and EID ear tags are available from the Extension Office.

NEW for 2023- all Market, Breeding and Feeder Calves nominated for Nebraska State Fair and Aksarben are required to have DNA onfile.

4-H Families & Youth will be in charge of self-nominating any possible breeding or market livestock animals they wish to exhibit at NE State Fair or AKSARBEN  by the listed deadlines (June 15 - All Beef, Swine, Goat, Sheep) Failure to nominate animals by deadline will result in not being allowed to exhibit at NE State Fair.

For families entering livestock for Nebraska State Fair and/or Aksarben.

Exhibitors (4-H/FFA families) will be responsible for submitting their animal (market and breeding) information into the AKSARBEN livestock database online themselves prior to the nomination deadline, June 15 at Showstockmgr.com

The Saunders County Extension Office will still continue to mail in the DNA envelopes to the AKSARBEN office by the respected deadline. Once the information is in the database and has been validated by the Extension Staff or FFA Advisor, it will then be available for exhibitors to make State Fair entries similar to years past.

The database has the capacity to accept animal information submitted directly by exhibitors (4-H/FFA families) as well as payments for the DNA process. The Nebraska 4-H Program staff will provide step by step instructions for doing this once the database is open to accepting entries. The process ensures responsibility on exhibitors (4-H/FFA families) with a number of safeguards in place for Extension staff and the Nebraska 4-H Program staff to monitor success. 4-H/FFA families will have the ability themselves to edit incorrect information (wrong tag number, wrong birth date, etc.) up to the deadline.
