2017 Quality Assurance Info

All Livestock exhibitors are required to complete some sort of Quality Assurance Training annually in order to show at County Fair, State Fair, Ak-Sar-Ben, and other livestock shows.  Exhibitors have the following choices for Quality Assurance trainings:

1- YQCA (Ages 8-21) - Please visit https://yqca.learngrow.io/Account/Login to sign up.  4-H age youth should use the 4-H login while FFA only members & older youth should use the independent login.  National YQCA Training Program - Beginning March 1 – After enrolling in 4-H through ne4honline.com you enroll for the training through 4honline. The national course will cost $12/member. Each member will need to do 3 modules for the year in their appropriate age category. There is a category for young adult for those FFA members over age 18 who are still showing animals at the fair.

2- Face-to-Face Training (Ages 8-18 [4-H]) - Extension Associate Mary Loftis will be holding QA Training on June 15th at 1:30PM in the Bill Larson Building on the Burt County Fairgrounds in Oakland.  Please call Nebraska Extension at 402-374-2929 to register so she has enough material for everyone.

3- Veterinarian Quality Assurance (Ages 18-21) - Please see your local veterinarian for information on how to complete a quality assurance training with a DVM

4- Testing-Out - Intermediate and senior level youth are still eligible this year to test-out in their age category by taking a written test at their local Extension office to fulfill Quality Assurance age level requirements. Practice tests are available through the online course and can be taken free of charge. However, the actual written test must be taken in person at the youth's local Extension office. To test-out of Quality Assurance, please contact the Burt County Extension office at 402-374-2929. This will probably be the last year testing out is an option.

Please contact your local Nebraska Extension office for questions about how to complete your quality assurance requirements.
