RentWise Curriculum for Nebraska Introduced at August Inservices in Omaha, Lincoln and Kearney

Are you are looking for ways to work with other agencies, the homeless or near homeless, high school family living classes, or college students who rent, or with persons who have problems getting and keeping housing?

Training for educators, housing related professionals, counselors, and rental property managers will provide the background, framework, and curriculum to enable the participants to implement a RentWise program through their agencies, organizations, or at their rental facilities or perhaps in schools and on college campus.

The goal of the RentWise program is to enable tenants to develop the life skills necessary to become successful tenants.  Marilyn Bruin, University of Minnesota, College of Human Ecology, Extension Housing Specialist, will present the curriculum and resources.  Dr. Bruin’s research has indicated that RentWise participants were less likely to rely on emergency shelters and their children were less likely to change schools.

Attachments of the registration form were previously emailed. If you need a faxed or mailed copy, please contact me. Pre-register for the training by sending $15.00.  Lunch is included at the Omaha and Lincoln sites.
