Comments From the Dean:

Congratulations

Kathy Anderson has been recognized as the 2008 Horseperson of the Year by the Nebraska Horse Council. Kathy has been an equine Extension Specialist at UNL since 1991. Kathy is very active in the Nebraska equine program, and we are pleased she is being recognized for her continued hard work! We also appreciate Kathy's selection as co-lead of the horse eXtension program.

Sheila Scheideler recently was named recipient of the 2008 Nebraska Poultry Industries Hall of Fame Award during the Nebraska Poultry Industries Conference in Columbus. This is the most prestigious award of the group and recognizes an individual for outstanding lifelong contributions to the poultry industry.

Congratulations to Kathy and Sheila!

UNL Campus Corner

In case you get any questions from admitted or current UNL students: There is an email scam targeting UNL users that asks them to update their WAM! email account information. WAM! is how students access their personal student information such as registration, financial aid, etc. This email is a scam, and students should NOT reply. For further information and an example of this email, see http://is.unl.edu/connectivity/news_20080311.shtml

March Computing Tip: New IANR and Extension PowerPoint Templates

The UNL and IANR custom templates for PowerPoint that have been available on the CIT Tips, Tricks, & Techniques Web site for years have been replaced with new versions that comply with UNL specific requirements. To make your work easier, CIT personnel worked with IANR and Extension administration to create several approved PowerPoint templates. Go to the Tip of the Month for instructions on using these templates for new slide shows and converting an existing slide show to a new template look.

See the CIT Computing Tip of the Month for details: http://citcomputing.unl.edu
